Details: Clara Hughes, the only athlete in history to win multiple medals at summer and winter Olympic Games is our very special guest! Also known as Redfeather on the trail and a true “kickass Canadian,” Clara Hughes (yes, ‘that’ Clara Hughes) as an avid long-distance hiker, has walked more than 20,000 kilometers on trails in North America. She’s hiked the triple crown of long-distance hiking, completing the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide and Appalachian Trails in their entirety.

Planning, hiking and sharing, plus engaging, educating and posting, all the while searching and finding mindfulness, she expertly navigated her way up and down mountains, through unknown terrain. Clara Hughes is a 6x Olympian in speed skating and cycling.

Details: “Whenever we hike, we’re prepared for injuries, we’re prepared for encounters with wildlife, we’re prepared to have to spend the night if something went wrong, [but] we’ve never prepared for a fire to stop us from being able to return to the car.” 

Hikers were trapped by a B.C. wildfire during the summer 2023 wildfire season, with no access back to their car, the trail or home. Hiker, Sage Randle, will share her thoughts, emotions, plans and actions from her incident with plans to help others be ‘rescue ready’ if necessary this summer. The helicopter pilot who rescued Sage and her friends will also share perspectives.

Geoff Gulevich, our special guest, has firmly established himself as one of the most photographed and filmed free riders in the sport.
